Verdict: Recommended

This is a super clean remaster of the original trilogy for PC that runs smoothly, looks fantastic, and maintains the same classic feel of the DS games. If you liked Ace Attorney back then, you'll like it now. The only con is that the keyboard controls are a little clunky (but can be remapped), so I'd advise playing with a controller.

That being said, if you've never played any of the Ace Attorney games, look no further if you like courtroom drama, making logical deductions, and solving puzzles. You play as a defense attorney who tries to prove his clients are innocent in a court of law. You often do absurd things to make this happen, like cross-examine a parrot. (It's just like that sometimes.) You also talk to witnesses, poke around crime scenes, and collect evidence to present in court. All in good fun, yes? Yes. This is why you break into people's offices sometimes, too.

Each game takes several hours to complete and builds up on the one before it, so you are rewarded for taking the time to learn and understand the design and mechanics. They're also fun, fast-paced, and straddle the line between actual courtroom proceedings and what you see on courtroom dramas. If you like a cast of wild characters, perplexing murder cases, and puzzles that are hard-but-not-too-hard, this is the game for you.
